Broadband Infrastructure Projects

The Broadband Infrastructure Projects Program provides $23.9 million in grants to directly support broadband infrastructure projects across the state through the ConnectRI Broadband Deployment Program to improve speed, resilience, and latency of current last-mile networks to ensure these networks can support 100/100mbps average real speeds for all users and provide affordable broadband access to all homes and businesses connected through CPF-funded projects.

A broadband serviceable location (BSL) is a business or residential location in the United States at which mass-market fixed broadband Internet access service is, or can be, installed.

Project areas (PA) include in Jamestown, Newport, Westerly, PA-A (Portsmouth), PA-F (Tiverton), and PA-1 to 7 each spanning multiple municipalities.

Over 16,000 locations, in 26 municipalities, will be enhanced through this program.
